The differences in the specific facts can be very small, but can mean the difference between conviction and dismissal. This applies in cases involving simple possession for personal use to manufacturing and selling drugs.

Officers are also like everyone else in that they don’t remember everything the have been told.  Search and seizure is a complex area of law for lawyers and judges, and can be even more so for the officer on the street.
